Pencilship in art:
It's no suprize that pencils are often also used in art. They are imensly useful for lots of things from drawing sketches, writing discriptions, and even sometimes shadong the final pieces. Almost all art textbooks or 'How-to' books recomend to use pencils for drafts as they are easy to erase if you mess up and they can be dark to help transfer the final draft to another piece of paperto start the true piece. Pencils are also often used in the art of writing as they are pretty good when it comes to writing drafts as they can be erased to fix wording or other marks. Finally one of the most often uses for pencils (excluding school perposes) is shading final pieces of artwork. Not only are they easy to erase to make highlights but they come in so many different forms (The HB scale) that artists have a lot of freedom when it comes to what pencils they use and what marks they want to make. For example if they want one section to be really dark they would use ~6-9B pencils while if they want something really light they would use ~6-9H pencils. Artists have lots of freedom and choice to how they can shade their peices, after all, the shading can make all the difference in a piece.
